Position Summary
Dexcom’s legal department is expanding and we are seeking a passionate attorney to join our Legal Team. This will allow us to continue our growth in the region. This position will report to the Director, Legal Counsel. It may be located in one of Dexcom’s EMEA offices, but remote/hybrid arrangements may be possible. This candidate will be working with a team made up of passionate and motivated attorneys and business partners from different offices in EMEA. They will also coordinate with local business leaders daily to support legal processes, including marketing and commercial, throughout EMEA as well as globally.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist EMEA business partners with marketing law compliance, strategic initiative, commercial transactions, contracts, business development, reimbursement, and market access.
- Provide ongoing legal advice regarding marketing, privacy and clinical research, business development and commercialization of products or services sold, marketed, or distributed in EMEA countries.
- Offer advice to businesses regarding the negotiation and execution of marketing and commercial agreements.
- Assist in the implementation and improvement of Dexcom’s compliance program initiatives. Collaborate closely with Dexcom’s compliance and regulatory teams to create new regulatory frameworks, investigate and address compliance issues.
- Assist in compliance reviews, audits and investigations by coordinating with regulatory agencies as needed.
- Participate in the management of the Legal Department, including budgets and policies.
- Manage outside vendors effectively and coordinate efforts among multiple internal teams.
- Give guidance to your internal teams about industry-best legal standards in marketing, intellectual property and licensing.
- Regular communication with supervisors and HQ Legal colleagues.
- Support, understanding, and enforcement of legal guidelines and procedures
- You must be organized, productive, and consistent when meeting high-quality standards and fast-paced activities.
- Regular updates via email, phone and/or zoom can be provided to stakeholders as a way of establishing contact with them.
- Able to comprehend and apply laws, regulations, cultures, or procedures from other countries.
Required Qualifications
- Degree in Law
- Minimum of 3-5 years post-qualification experience either in a law firm or in-house
- Expertise in healthcare compliance and advertising laws for multiple jurisdictions within EMEA.
- Ability to manage relationships with counsel from outside.
- Experience in negotiating and drafting agreements.
- Capability to manage large volumes of projects across a broad range of industries.
- Ability to create legal documents independently and track changes and version control.
- Capability to supervise and manage business constituents.
- Collaboration and team-oriented.
- Excellent communication skills and decision-making skills, written and verbal.
- A strong English writing, editing and negotiation skill is a must. Prioritization, prioritization, presentation, and negotiation skills are also essential. Language skills in Spanish, German and French preferred.
- It is essential to be able to think strategically and come up with practical and creative legal business solutions.
- You must be able to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team.
- You must have a good understanding of computers, including Microsoft Office.
- Remote work can be done professionally, securely, efficiently, and without supervision.
- Ability to work as required at Dexcom’s offices.
